Our family is about to go on Christmas break and one of our favorite holiday traditions during the break is to drive through neighborhoods in the area that go "all out" with holiday decorations. We like to make hot chocolate, pile into the car with a bunch of friends and listen to holiday music while we "ooh and ahh" at the creative displays. 

The Mission Inn in Riverside has an amazing lights display (17th Annual Festival of Lights) going on now through Jan. 3rd. The Mission Inn is illuminated by over 3 and a half million twinkling lights! There is also an outdoor ice skating rink for some added family fun.

One of the local lights displays that has been recommended is in Rancho Cucamunga on Thoroughbred & Carnelian - off the 210 freeway. If you know of a neighborhood that has a fantastic lights display, please share it with us on the Parent Chat page.

The holidays are a great time for crafts, and what's better than an easy craft for even the youngest kids. Here's a great way to create fun holiday art by making your own dough. Kids of all ages will love to create, play, pound and press this dough into their favorite shapes. Add seasonal cookie cutters for the younger kids and this will entertain them for a long time!

To make, mix 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of warm water, 2 tsp cream of tartar, 1/4 cup of salt, 1 tsp of oil, food coloring and 1 tsp of glitter. Mix everything together well. Store in a plastic container. This would make a great stocking stuffer!
