Do you have plans for a family vacation this summer? For those of you wondering when the right time to travel is... it is NOW! There is never a perfect time and your kids are never a perfect age. Just take plenty of supplies, get as many tips as you can from seasoned travelers and pack up the kids and go.

PLANNING & PACKING... One key to a successful trip comes in the preparation and planning stages. If you are a list maker, now is the time to jot down the items you would like to take while keeping in mind the type of trip you are taking (beach vacation or visiting family and friends), flying or driving, how long is the trip, etc. Just remember... plenty of diapers, change of clothes, activities, and lots of snacks!!!

AIRLINE TRAVEL... If you are flying, many airlines are now charging extra fees for checked bags so travelers are trying to pack more efficiently and stick to carry-ons when possible. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) publishes guidelines for travelers. Liquids and gels still have restrictions when they are packed in a carry-on. Each passenger is allowed one quart-sized zip-top clear bag with as many 3.4 ounce bottles (or smaller) of liquids or gels that fit into the one bag. Remember, your kids are passengers, too. They can have their own carry-ons and their zip-top bag as well. Some changes have been made to the rules regarding flying with formula, breast milk and food so visit the TSA website for the latest information.

Norco - Thornton's Ice Cream & Coffee Parlor is not your run-of-the mill sweet shop. The family-owned, community-centered shop is a one stop-shop for everything you need for any special occasion. Thornton's has been serving up sweets for 10 years and the family behind the confections has been centered in the city for years, giving them a strong sense of community.

"Growing up in the Norco community gives us the opportunity to share our knowledge of our city and the surrounding cities," Regina said. "We love to make people happy. It's very hard work and when you see that smile on a person's face, it just makes it all worth it!"

Even if you visit Thornton's to simply order an ice cream or 3D cake for a special occasion, you may end up leaving with everything else needed to make the event a success - from cake, ice cream and candy, to tables, chairs, DJ service and bouncers, Thornton's offers it all. "We are unique and don't think our competitors can offer their customers the complete package," Regina said. And don't forget their signature treat - photo cookies.
